Le Gole di Tiberio, sito Geopark riconosciuto dall ‘Unesco, si trovano lungo il fiume Pollina nel territorio di San Mauro Castelverde. Costituite da rocce calcaree formatesi nel triassico superiore, le Gole sono lunghe circa 400 metri e raggiungono anche i 50 metri di altezza. La visita alle Gole rappresenta un viaggio singolare alla scoperta di un mondo che risale a circa 200 milioni di anni fa e ancora incontaminato. Un luogo selvaggio raccomandato a tutti coloro che amano la natura, il silenzio e i colori e le luci di un ambiente dove è anche possibile avvistare l’aquila reale, scoprire i fossili di Gasteropodi e le numerose grotte abitate una volta dai briganti.
Dal 27 luglio è attivo tutti i giorni un servizio transfer su prenotazione per le gole di Tiberio da CEFALU’, CAMPOFELICE, FINALE, SAN MAURO e il resto delle MADONIE. Per info e prenotazioni: contattare Giovanni 3397727584 o Michele 3895530127.

Rafting sul fiume Pollina
Dal mese di gennaio fino al mese di aprile, se le condizioni del fiume lo consentono, si organizzano, solo su prenotazione per gruppi di 6 persone, discese rafting lungo il fiume Pollina attraversando le Gole di Tiberio. E’ accessibile a tutti.

Tiberio’s Flume’s Excursions in rubber dinghy
Tiberio’s Flumes, Geopark area recognized by Unesco, are located along the Pollina river inside the Madonie Regional Natural Park in the territory of San Mauro Castelverde. The Flumes are composed of limestone formed in the Late Triassic. The visit is reccomended only to people who really love uncontaminated nature, the season’s alternation molds and models the surrounding ecosystem. To visit the Flumen means to discover Gastropod fossils, many bird’s nests even in a fewcentimeters from water, the numerous caves once in habited by outlaws and legends associated with them and with place, especially famous that of the Miricu and the Monster, the play of light that is created between the water and the walls and if you are lucky, even the flight of the Golden Eagle.

Rafting on the Pollina river
From the month of January to the month of Avril. If the river conditions are good we will organize rafting descents along the Pollina river and across the Gorgers of Tiberio. We need your reservation. Only for group of 6 persons. It is accesible to everybody.
