La chiesa, che sorge dirimpetto alla Chiesa dell’Immacolata Concezione, fu costruita nel 1583 su una cappella risalente al XIII secolo, ingrandita con la realizzazione di un “cappellone” restaurato nella prima metà del ‘700. Internamente la chiesa è suddivisa in tre navate, con arcate sostenute da colonne marmoree. Tra le varie opere d’arte qui conservate, si citano un crocifisso dipinto del XV secolo e la tela di Filippo Randazzo del 1728, esposta sull’altare maggiore, raffigurante “Il martirio di San Ippolito”.

The church, which stands in front of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, was built in 1583 on a chapel dating back to the thirteenth century, enlarged with the construction of a “chapel” restored in the first half of the eighteenth century. Internally the church is divided into three naves, with arches supported by marble columns. Among the various works of art preserved here, there is a painted crucifix of the fifteenth century and the painting by Filippo Randazzo of 1728, over the high altar, depicting “The martyrdom of St. Hippolytus”.
